NEW START

As we all know Brexit and the pandemic has not been easy for us small makers.

Sadly at the beginning of 2021, I had to make the difficult decision to step back and take a break from my leather work. With everything being so unpredictable and with the rising costs of transport affecting the materials I felt that I needed time to breath and reflect on the situation.

My intention for the brand has always been to make hand-crafted simple designs that last a lifetime using ethically produced materials at a fair price.

Having to think about using a new leather, the material that informed the foundations of my designs was extremely difficult for me. I had spent years forming close working relationships with suppliers and collaborating closely with the team on dyeing processes to create the perfect colours using plant-based dyes.

I spent the year testing new materials. Canvas, rubber, mushroom leather, and recycled saddles but I was always aware of what that material was lacking in that I had been able to carefully curate in my original leather.

Moving forwards earlier this year I got an excited call from my supplier saying that transport costs had eased and they could finally pass on those savings to me. Although the cost was not the same as before it had dropped to become feasible again. This experience has confirmed how essential this leather has become to my work.

I am very pleased to say that I am returning with a new collection ready to launch in the next few weeks.

Thank you for all your support, I will be updating my events page soon!
